The gnawing, suffocating, nauseating pain of this hopeless isolation leaves an acrid taste in my throat. As if an arm has reached down my throat and grips my heart. In the fact of such unbridled hatred I come to wonder of there’s a place far to the “west” where peace yet reigns supreme. Why, oh why, do our siblings reject us? Our we not all human? Can we still cut through the fog of isolation with the light of creation to bring about a world we can share in peace? Must we always look over our shoulders?

Across the void that connects our devices it is easy to hate those unseen. Across the void it is easy to watch as Achilles, hero of the Achaean, cuts down Hector, Hero of Troy. To the Trojan are the savage Achaeans not a scourge? To the Achaean is the Trojan not a disease? Will we ever tire of this dynamic. Will we ever look each other in the eyes and see what lurks beyond.

In a world mired by hate perhaps the only truly radical move left to make is to learn how to love. How to see love in the stones, trees, animals, and humans. Perhaps what is hardest it is also what is most simple. We would all do well to remember, no one in the entire world truly has enemies. We only have each other and it is up to all of us, not…
